Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our client's finance team on a 14-month fixed term contract. Based in Felixstowe, you will play a crucial role in managing the purchase ledger and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure they are accurately recorded in the system.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including BACS and cheque payments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and provide support for audits.
  • Respond to supplier queries and liaise with internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
