Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team in the Felixstowe area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will provide support to students with diverse learning requirements, helping them to engage with their education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in the classroom, ensuring they are fully engaged and able to participate in lessons.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s specific needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting independence and encouraging social interaction.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as necessary.
- Provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding student performance and development.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A relevant qualification in education or special needs support (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is an advantage but not essential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
