A well respected and established container logistics and distribution business which has shown consistent growth over almost 30 years has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner who is looking to take that next important career step. You will join an expanding, dynamic business in Felixtowe working Mon to Fri days. The role would also suit a logistics professional with Transport Planning experience that is pro-active, efficient and very much a team player.
This is a great role for an ambitious individual to join this progressive business which has experienced year on year growth, and with further expansion plans, they have an exciting opportunity for a hard-working Transport Planner to join their team. You will enjoy the buzz of a busy transport environment and enjoy a variety of duties to include chasing hauliers for updates and ensuring that time scales are adhered to, reacting pro-actively to unforeseen issues that may impact on delivery times ensuring they are resolved as effectively as possible with the least impact on the business. You will engage with personnel at all levels of the business, building professional relationships as well as identifying areas for continuous improvement. Multimodal transport experience and container logistics will be an advantage.
The qualities that are highly valued are professionalism, flexibility, an ability to use your initiative, client engagement and a willingness to do what it takes to deliver! In addition to a track record of success, you will very much be pro-active, positive, adaptable and capable of adapting to unforeseen situations, so being switched-on, thinking on your feet and operating in a very fast-paced environment will be essential. Experience with planning software and good IT skills will be beneficial. There are genuine opportunities to advance into more senior planning roles within the business.
