Calling all Air Freight professionals! 

I am recruiting for an Air Freight Supervisor for a Feltham-based client who specialises in multi-modal freight forwarding and supply chain services. My client is seeking a hands-on professional with experience in handle air freight forwarding from start to finish, and offers a fantastic benefits package in return! This is an office-based, Monday-Fri role, with 4 hours overtime (working from home) once every 4 weekends (Sat or Sun).

Main Duties:

  • Supervise all Airfreight with a hands-on approach at various stages and from start to finish
  • Creating and maintaining customer standard operating procedures
  • Having a clear financial understanding of each job file(s) within your remit
  • Having ownership and taking accountability to support the team in delivering operational excellence
  • Ensuring that customer service is maintained at a high level
  • Delivering accurate and timely paperwork in relation to the creation and issuance of import documentation
  • Demonstrating commercial acumen and an in depth understanding of the P&L of a job
  • Ensuring timely and accurate freighting and invoicing
  • Managing operational and financial reports, ensuring anomalies are escalated appropriately
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, airlines & overseas partners/agents

Key Requirements:

  • Solid freight forwarding experience in air freight imports and export
  • Familiarity with handling air movements from start to finish.
  • Experience of managing client/customer and carrier relationships with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Experience of overseeing staff in a high-pressure environment whilst retaining the capacity to remain calm under pressure and have the ability to motivate and develop people.
  • The ability to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and experience of customs (desirable)
  • Cargowise experience (highly beneficial).
