My client, a warehousing & freight forwarding specialist based in Feltham, are a looking for an experienced Air Import Clerk. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of air import procedures and will be familiar with CDS for customs declarations. This is an office-based Monday-Friday role, working from 9am-5:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break, plus one Saturday morning per month from 8am-12pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage air freight forwarding processes from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in using CDS for customs declarations and compliance.
  • Handle import documentation and compliance.
  • Understanding of international import regulations.
  • Expertise in preparing and processing import documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Efficient time management skills to handle multiple shipments and deadlines

Key Requirements:

  • Must have prior experience in handling air import shipments from start to finish.
  • Experience using the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) for customs declarations and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, customs officials, and other stakeholders.
