GSL is looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant in the borough of your choice. With competitive pay rates ranging from £90 to £110 per day, this role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering the academic and personal growth of students with SEMH needs. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored support, assisting teachers in the classroom, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment. A successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and supportive educational experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Facilitate emotional regulation strategies and interventions.
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times.
  • Monitor and track student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEMH setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
