Right Now Group are working with a leading freight forwarder seeking a Transport Operations Manager. This role is pivotal in managing a team of planners and drivers, and ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Salary: £50,000 going up to £55,000 after successful completion of probationary period. Location: HeathrowShift: Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00 or 09:00 - 17:00

Key Duties:
  • Manage a team of planners and drivers, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and main hauliers
  • Maintaining strong communication and relationships.
  • Oversee all aspects of transport operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company safety standards,
  • Lead, motivate, and develop planning teams
  • Drive operational efficiency by managing staff planning, setting clear objectives, and meeting key performance indicators
  • Propose and implement operational changes to enhance performance and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure ongoing development and training within the team
Desirable:
  • Minimum of 5 years within Transport/Freight
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • A confident and professional communicator, skilled at building relationships at all levels.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively and work within an evolving organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and safety standards within freight
