Monday to Friday, day shifts
£40,000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritise and coordinate maintenance activities to align with production goals.
- Communicate with the operations team about any potential safety or quality issues identified during maintenance.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on machinery and equipment.
- Assist with installation, relocation, and overhauling of machinery to support operational needs.
- Conduct repairs on plant machinery, including work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Carry out electrical installations, working with both single-phase and three-phase circuits.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with manufacturing standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with contractors and oversee external maintenance activities as needed.
- Diagnose faults, test, and make adjustments, finding cost-effective solutions without detailed specifications.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Recognised qualifications in engineering.
- Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and quality procedures, ideally with experience in a food production environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with team members, contractors, and suppliers.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge existing processes constructively.
- A desire to continually develop relevant skills and technical knowledge.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Flexible approach to responsibilities and a strong commitment to task prioritization and meeting deadlines under pressure.
