Are you ready to play a vital role in keeping our equipment and machinery running smoothly? As a Maintenance Engineer, youll focus on maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery while ensuring a safe and efficient production environment.


Monday to Friday, day shifts

£40,000 per year


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prioritise and coordinate maintenance activities to align with production goals.
  • Communicate with the operations team about any potential safety or quality issues identified during maintenance.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and urgent repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and overhauling of machinery to support operational needs.
  • Conduct repairs on plant machinery, including work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Carry out electrical installations, working with both single-phase and three-phase circuits.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in line with manufacturing standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with contractors and oversee external maintenance activities as needed.
  • Diagnose faults, test, and make adjustments, finding cost-effective solutions without detailed specifications.


Skills/Qualifications Required:


  • Recognised qualifications in engineering.
  • Knowledge of safety, hygiene, and quality procedures, ideally with experience in a food production environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with team members, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge existing processes constructively.
  • A desire to continually develop relevant skills and technical knowledge.
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible approach to responsibilities and a strong commitment to task prioritization and meeting deadlines under pressure.
