Training & Human Resources Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Training & Human Resources Officer to join our Human Resources team. This role involves providing comprehensive HR support and delivering training initiatives across three jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR and/or training, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and must be adept at managing multiple HR functions including compliance, onboarding, performance management, and training.

The role is anticipated to be 60% Training and 40% HR focused.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support Apprentices and Graduates throughout their development programs.
  • Assist employees with their training plans, fostering ongoing development.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Oversee the accurate inputting of records and maintain our learning management systems.
  • Liaise with external training providers to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Offer advice and support to line managers and staff on HR-related matters.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant HR records are maintained.
  • Deliver a seamless onboarding process for new hires.
  • Prepare reports and analyse HR data to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to the creation, implementation, and review of HR policies, processes, and procedures in line with legislation and business needs.
  • Support probation and performance management processes, as well as disciplinary processes.
  • Plan, organise, and deliver training and learning initiatives as part of the company’s People Plan.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2 years+ experience in an HR environment, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Practical experience in discipline and grievance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of up-to-date employment law.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment.
  • A 3rd level qualification along with a CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Flexible approach, professional attitude, and the maturity to handle confidential information.
