Senior Design Engineer (Highways & Drainage)

Due to exceptional workloads, the company seeks an experienced Senior Design Engineer with expertise in drainage to join the highways design team at their Fleet office.
In this role as Principal Design Engineer, you will assist with designing and implementing advanced drainage solutions that align with regulatory standards and environmental best practices. Your extensive highways design experience will be vital to managing projects focused on innovation, safety, and developing resilient, sustainable infrastructure.
Main Duties:
·Ensure designs are completed within budget and program timelines.
·Manage resource allocation to fully utilize team members on high-priority tasks.
·Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to support cross-office and cross-discipline projects.
·Integrate requirements from relevant Authorities and Statutory bodies into designs.
·Authorize design information and reports, offering constructive feedback.
·Adhere to MCHW, DMRB, and local design guidance in all designs.
·Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
·Comply with Health & Safety regulations, particularly CDM, and proactively manage risk.
Essential Requirements:
·Experience with Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects.
·Proficiency in highway drainage design and MicroDrainage software.
·Strong management skills with the confidence to lead teams on complex projects.
·Extensive technical skills across various highway design environments.
·Proven experience in project management for highway projects, delivering on time and within budget.
·Ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
·Experience mentoring and supervising Highway Design staff.
·Robust knowledge of DMRB technical documents.
·Experience managing contract document development in accordance with Highway contracts.
·Ability to advise clients on technical issues in highway structures.
·Working knowledge of the Civils 3D CAD package.
Desirable Requirements:
·Experience in preparing cost estimates.
·Membership in a relevant Chartered Institute.
·Valid UK driving license.

Pay: £55,000.00 - £65,000.00 per year
