Operations Director

My client is seeking an Operations Director to oversee and enhance the operational functions of their growing business. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading a team to achieve excellence in all areas of the business.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Manage the operational functions across the business, ensuring the manufacture of products aligns with customer requirements and compliance systems (ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001).
- Oversee operation across the site, ensuring all operations adhere to safety standards.
- Direct and support management staff including the Production Manager, Engineering & Site Manager, Warehouse Manager, and Compliance Manager.
- Negotiate and manage service contracts for factory equipment and services.
- Maintain and adjust the shift/working hours rota, using the Kalio machine to confirm operative hours and holidays.
- Develop and manage a site security plan, including overseeing site key holders.
- Analyse daily/weekly production and overtime data for presentation at Management Meetings.
- Manage manpower requirements in line with workload and service demands.
- Control maintenance costs within agreed budgets.
- Continuously analyse and improve production processes for increased efficiency.
- Monitor and reduce energy and waste outputs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an operational leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of compliance systems such as ISO45001, ISO9001, and ISO14001.
- Excellent management and leadership skills, capable of directing and motivating a diverse team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and understand financial data.
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts.
- Proficient in using data analysis and production management software.
