Customs Administrator

£25k - £27k DOE

Folkestone

Our well-established client are looking to onboard a reliable and ambitious Customs Administrator to join their flourishing team!

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global organisation and be part of a rapidly growing business where hard work and dedication is rewarded. Previous experience within a similar role is required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting customs declarations using simplified, summary, and standard procedures
  •  Ensuring compliance with customs regulations, including verifying the accuracy of data such as CPC codes, commodity codes, import/export licensing, and EORI numbers
  • Providing advice to traders on customs clearance and related procedures
  • Applying HMRC valuation methods to calculate and declare customs charges, and managing payment schedules
  • Maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
  • Coordinating with shippers, customs agents, and freight forwarders to ensure the efficient movement of goods
  • Building relationships with new and existing customers and forwarding customs release messages to clients and their representatives
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay updated on customs policies and procedures
