Procurement Team Leader

Location: Folkestone, United Kingdom

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: To c. £60,000, dependent on experience, plus excellent benefits package which includes bonus elements and generous pension and annual leave schemes.

Managing a small team, overseeing the procurement process and ensuring cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market sourcing and compliance monitoring to reduce costs and improve performance.
  • Report to the procurement manager on progress, contracts, and disputes.
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing, financial, and regulatory procedures.
  • Oversee financial guarantees, supplier financial health, and liquidated damages.
  • Approve orders/contracts within signing limits; escalate higher value items.
  • Manage tender processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and presenting recommendations.
  • Analyse commercial offers and conduct final negotiations.
  • Set up contracts, purchase orders, and related documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage disputes, and oversee projects to completion.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in technical purchasing, ideally gained in a project environment
  • Team leadership / management experience
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
