Job Title: Software Team Lead

Location: Outskirts of Frome, Somerset

Salary: £70-£80k (Depending on experience)

Working Arrangement: 3 Days On-Site Per Week


Job Overview:


As a Software Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a team of skilled Software Engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring the team's productivity and efficiency while maintaining exceptional standards in software development for their Maritime Products. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for driving software projects from conception through to completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Embedded Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring alignment with project deadlines and overall objectives.
  • Oversee projects through the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design to final implementation, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Develop requirement specifications, high-level design documents, development plans, and comprehensive test documentation.
  • Establish and maintain software development procedures to enhance team effectiveness and product quality.
  • Provide maintenance and enhancements for existing products, including direct support for client engineers, technicians, and Field Service Engineers.
  • Drive innovation by leading the development of new software products that meet client needs and market demands.
  • Manage the software build process, ensuring that systems and applications are properly developed and deployed.

Essential Technical Knowledge:

- Programming Experience with Embedded C/C++

- GUI Development

-Worked on PIC & ARM micro-controllers

- Implemented communication protocols such as TCP/IP and serial communication (UART, SPI, I2C)

- Developed Software on a Linux OS & Windows Environment


Educational Background:
Degree in a relevant field, such as Software Engineering
