Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated Fitters Assistant to join our growing team. This role will involve assisting our experienced fitters in the day-to-day installation of uPVC windows, doors, and living spaces. With full training and support provided, you will have the opportunity to progress into a fully qualified uPVC installer. Regular reviews and on-the-job training will help you develop your skills in uPVC installations and advance your career in the home improvement sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist fitters with the installation of uPVC windows, doors, conservatories, orangeries, and living space products.
  • Help prepare the site and ensure all materials and tools are available for the fitter to carry out the installation work.
  • Provide hands-on support during installations, such as lifting, measuring, and positioning items for fitting.
  • Assist with the preparation and sealing of uPVC products to ensure secure and weatherproof installation.
  • Work alongside the team to maintain high safety standards on-site.
  • Help with the maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
  • Assist with site setup, including measuring and preparing areas for installation.
  • Learn and apply installation techniques under the guidance of qualified fitters.
  • Ensure all installations meet the company’s quality and safety standards.
  • Keep the worksite clean and tidy, following all health and safety protocols.
  • Communicate with clients professionally, ensuring excellent customer service during installation.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and reviews to track progress and skill development.

Requirements:

  • A strong desire to develop skills in uPVC installation and home improvement.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions closely.
  • Good attention to detail with a passion for quality craftsmanship.
  • Physically fit and able to assist with heavy lifting and on-site tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and team members.
  • Previous experience in construction, fitting, or related fields is advantageous but not essential.
  • Full, clean driving license (preferred but not essential).
