Mechanical Design Engineer•    Annual Salary: From £40000 to £46,000•    Location: Somerset•    Job Type: Full-timeIf you are a skilled mechanical design engineer with experience in designing innovative products using SolidWorks, then this could be ideal for you!You will be joining a leader in developing innovative high-tech camera and inspection systems that are used in a range of sectors and applications.  This will give you the chance to use your skills to work on some interesting and varied products and take the lead on development of new designs.For more details, please apply and one of the team at Reed will be in touch.Day-to-day of the role:•    Design mechanical components for new projects, transforming concepts into cost-effective and functional designs.•    Customize existing designs to meet specific requirements.•    Ensure high accuracy and attention to detail in all design aspects.•    Manage complete design packages including CAD models, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, Bills-of-Materials, and related documentation.•    Liaise with suppliers to ensure components meet design specifications.•    Support production teams by providing detailed design support and troubleshooting during the manufacturing process.Required Skills & Qualifications:•    Proven experience in designing components.•    Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD•    Ability to prepare design concepts, dimension and geometrically tolerance•    Knowledge of material selection appropriate for design specifications.•    Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and drive solutions in a fast-paced environment.•    Excellent planning skills with the ability to set and achieve realistic targets in a project-based environment.•    Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, hands-on approach, and a desire to be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle.•    Excellent attention to detail and a right-first-time attitude.•    BEng Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
