Direct Response Employment Services are delighted to supporting a local client of ours in Frome who are seeking a materials planner to join the team on a permanent basis.

As a materials planner you will be joining the procurement team, this team are responsible for the full supply chain function and ensuring customers requirements are processed accurately, efficiently and to a high level of customer service.

The Role:

  • Evaluate MRP to coordinate cost effective purchasing at minimal risk.
  • Check MTP and raise sub con works orders.
  • Ensure all order confirmations are received and processed within agreed timescales.
  • Notify planning team and demand team when purchases are at risk .
  • Review exceptions via MRP to determine inbound purchase at risk.
  • Communicate price and lead time variations to the procurement team.
  • Attend relevant meetings to ensure MRP can be evaluated correctly.
  • Follow strategy of purchase agreements or implemented by the procurement team.
  • Review and action any invoice queries provided by finance.
  • Coordinate purchase returns and replacement purchase orders instructed by the procurement team.
  • Communicating effectively and positively with all teams, colleagues and managers.

The Candidate:

  • Problem solving skills.
  • Materials planning experience or similar.
  • CIPS or relevant experience.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of MS including Excel and experience of sage would be desirable.

Working Monday to Friday, full time hours with a salary of up to 30k.
