Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Frome (1-2 days in the office)Contract Type: Permanent/ Full-Time
An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is required to join a contractor specialising in providing surfacing and road planning services to the highway and road construction industry.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - The role:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for surfacing and highway works projects
- Support the procurement process by helping to source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist in measuring works on-site and preparing valuations for client applications and subcontractor payments
- Help manage contract documentation, ensuring compliance with NEC, JCT, or other relevant forms of contract
- Contribute to financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and cost monitoring
- Work alongside project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and cost control
- Support in identifying potential cost variations, risks, and opportunities to protect project profitability
Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management (or working towards one)
- Some experience or knowledge of quantity surveying within the highways, surfacing, or civil engineering sectors is desirable but not essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other cost management tools
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Full UK driving licence as site visits may be required
