About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Engineer to join our dynamic Project Controls team. This role is pivotal in ensuring project affordability, accurate forecasting, and efficient cost management. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, and other stakeholders to deliver informed financial insights and ensure alignment with project programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Reporting:

Work with Project Managers to provide informed financial forecasts for the Financial Year and Project Lifecycle.
Collaborate with Project Planners to align forecasts with project schedules.
Produce timely cost reports for month-end reporting, ensuring input into financial systems.
Cost Monitoring & Affordability:

Track and review project costs and forecasts, ensuring ongoing affordability and budget alignment.
Participate in change control and Early Warning Notice (EWN) meetings to assess cost impacts.
Supplier & Contract Administration:

Attend monthly supplier project meetings and manage contract administration via CEMAR.
Raise purchase and contract requisitions and handle invoice receipting within internal systems.
Assess invoices and valuations, providing advice to resolve queries.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:

Present cost and performance data to peers, project managers, and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

Skills & Experience:

Strong knowledge of cost engineering, cost control, and cost analysis.
Experience aligning cost forecasts with project schedules and programmes.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organisational abilities.
Effective communication, presentation, and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

Educated to diploma level.
Ideally, 2+ years of estimating experience.
Familiarity with NEC contracts and CEMAR systems (preferred).
Membership in a relevant professional body or actively working toward membership.
