CMS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias) for our well established engineering client based in Gateshead.

The Role

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will provide multi skilled support in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the plant facilities.

  • Providing full maintenance support to production to minimise down time.
  • Responding to breakdowns as and when they occur
  • Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Identifying reliability issues, root cause problem solving and improvements
  • Ensuring all machinery and equipment on site is both mechanically and electrically safe.
  • Liaising and working with outside contractors when required

The person

A good communicator with excellent organisational skills, coupled with a mandatory technical qualification in electrical discipline. The successful candidate will also possess the personal attribute to drive improvements in all areas of the department.

  • Qualified to 18th Edition Electrical regulations with at least 5 years experience of fast paced high volume manufacturing environment, ideally qualified to City & Guilds Inspection and Testing Level 3
  • Good understanding/knowledge of mechanical skills
  • Experience of maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic and oil and grease lubrication systems
  • PLC fault finding and PLC development is a must.
  • Experience of maintaining large Power Presses and Assembly Robots
  • Knowledge and experience of motor drives and panel building
  • Forklift and MEWP License would be desirable.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to Health and Safety Procedures

Working Hours:

Hours of work 39 hours per week,

Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 16:30pm,

Friday 07:30am to 12:30pm, must be flexible.
