We are looking for a skilled and experienced mechanical fitter for a client based in Gateshead. we are looking for an individual with a strong background in robotics or special-purpose machinery to contribute to the assembly, installation, and maintenance of our automated systems. The role involves working primarily with mechanical components and subsystems, ensuring that our high standards of quality and performance are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly and fitting of robotic and special-purpose machinery.
  • Installation and commissioning of automated systems on client sites.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Performing mechanical fitting tasks with precision.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting system faults.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other technical staff to optimise system performance.
  • Ensuring all work meets health and safety regulations and company quality standards.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with robotics or special-purpose machinery.
  • Qualified to Higher National Level (HNC, HND, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fitting techniques.
  • Experience with pneumatics and the interface of sensors and associated control equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
