If so, we want you on our team!We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated staff at a specialised school in Gateshead. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children with profound learning difficulties and severe autism, offering personalized care and education to help them thrive.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with profound learning difficulties and severe autism.
  • Assist with daily activities, adapting tasks and routines to the individual needs of each child.
  • Create a nurturing and safe environment that promotes positive learning experiences.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with the children to foster their independence and personal development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure each child receives the appropriate level of care and assistance.
Requirements:
  • A caring, proactive, and nurturing attitude.
  • Patience and a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by children with severe autism and profound learning difficulties.
  • Previous experience in a disability support or SEN setting is desirable but not essential—what matters most is your commitment to helping children reach their potential.
