Social Worker - Adult Learning Disabilities TeamLocation: Gateshead, UK£19 - £24 per hour

About the Role:

Randstad is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Adult Learning Disabilities Team in Gateshead. In this role, you will work with adults who have learning disabilities, providing essential support and empowering them to live as independently as possible. You will play a vital role in assessing needs, developing care plans, and advocating for individuals to ensure they receive the highest standard of support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of adults with learning disabilities and develop personalized support plans that promote independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, including health, housing, and support services, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain regular contact with service users, families, and carers, providing advice and support to help individuals navigate complex social and health systems.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities, promoting equality, dignity, and respect.
  • Work within safeguarding guidelines to identify and address any risks or issues that may impact the well-being of vulnerable adults.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
  • Experience in working with adults with learning disabilities or in adult social care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with service users, families, and professionals.
  • Commitment to person-centered care and improving outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.
