About Us:Randstad is excited to collaborate with the Referral and Assessment Team in Gateshead to recruit a dedicated and experienced Social Worker. This role offers a vital opportunity to be on the front lines of protecting vulnerable children and families, conducting assessments and determining the best courses of action for their well-being.

Job Description:As a Social Worker in the Referral and Assessment Team, you will play a crucial role in assessing the needs of children referred to the service. You will work in a fast-paced environment, conducting risk assessments, gathering information from multiple agencies, and making informed decisions to ensure the safety of children.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough initial assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Develop and implement appropriate support and protection plans based on assessment outcomes.
  • Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies to gather information and ensure coordinated support.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, such as child protection conferences and strategy meetings.
  • Provide clear and concise reports, ensuring accurate records are maintained in line with legal requirements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in a referral and assessment team or a similar statutory social work role.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a challenging caseload.
