Are you a passionate and inspiring Music Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to shape the future of young musicians? Supply Desk are seeking a dynamic and committed Music Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Gawcott, starting in September 2024. This role is perfect for an educator who is enthusiastic about fostering a love for music in students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role will require the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive music lessons to students across various year groups, fostering a love for music and encouraging creative expression.
  • Develop and implement a well-structured music curriculum that meets national standards and caters to a diverse range of student abilities.
  • Prepare students for music examinations, performances, and extracurricular activities, including school concerts, competitions, and events.
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore different genres of music, instruments, and technologies, encouraging them to achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them improve.
  • Manage and maintain musical instruments, equipment, and resources, ensuring they are in good condition and available for student use.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.

 

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Music (unqualified teachers also accepted).
  • Experience teaching music at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and proficiency in a variety of musical instruments.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to extra-curricular activities and a willingness to lead school music clubs, choirs, or bands.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
  • A commitment to the welfare and safeguarding of children.
