Agile & Forecasting Engineer
Location: Gaydon (On-site)
Contract Type: Ongoing, Inside IR35
Rate: £26.65 per hour (Umbrella)
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Agile & Forecasting Engineer to support the planning, monitoring, and execution of projects within a test laboratory environment. The successful candidate will assist in developing robust forecasting models for EE/EV labs, ensuring alignment with programme feature content and testing requirements.
As an Agile & Forecasting Engineer, you will work closely with key stakeholders, programme teams, and technical areas across Engineering to ensure laboratory deliverables are effectively managed using Agile methodologies and toolsets. You will also support operational cadence, ensuring that tasks and impediments are appropriately progressed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of a standardised forecasting model for EE/EV laboratories, ensuring compatibility across all test facilities.
- Utilise PDL inputs to understand programme feature content and develop forecasting tools linked to testing requirements.
- Ensure EE/EV labs are using enterprise Agile methods for managing deliverables.
- Support the creation and management of a JIRA Portfolio Plan linked to strategic themes and deliverables.
- Assist in delivering an operational cadence, ensuring testing activities are effectively tracked and managed via Agile toolsets (JIRA/Confluence).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate workload forecasting aligned with programme timing.
- Support the management of ABR/QBR requirements and cadence linked to strategic themes.
Skills Required:
- Experience in Agile tools and methodologies within an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of programme feature content and gateway timings.
Experience Required:
- Proficiency in Atlassian toolsets for Agile operations (JIRA, Confluence).
- Knowledge of PCDS processes and their impact on programme delivery.
- Experience working with stakeholders to align testing requirements with programme demands.
- Understanding of automotive systems and associated test facilities.
Experience Preferred:
- Project Management Qualification (PMQ, PRINCE2, etc.).
- Scrum or Kanban training, including JIRA-specific training.
- Advanced knowledge of forecasting models for laboratory workloads.
