The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing a pivotal role in respect of assigned projects with specific responsibility for providing the control and co-ordination of agreed programmes of work and for reporting on the progress of technical, engineering and associated activities of assigned projects such that they are managed, administered and completed in accordance with contract.
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you may be expected to oversee and guide the work of administrative and technical personnel assigned to specific projects. What you will be doing will include (Further info available upon request)
- To establish the Project Plans by creating and maintaining a Programme incorporating a Work Breakdown Structure.
- To initiate Internal Works Orders such that work orders are communicated to relevant Departments and appropriate resources can be allocated and efficiently managed so that work is completed in accordance with the Programme.
- To develop and maintain a risk register
- To monitor and control cost of assigned projects
- To communicate and co-ordinate the flow of data and relevant information between all parties.
- To produce progress reports for management and/or customers and if required present at formal update meetings.
- To liaise with subcontractors ensuring that they are in receipt of technical and schedule information and to manage the subcontractor interface with other departments so that subcontractors are able to effectively support programme needs.
- To assist and support preparation of commercial proposal submissions.
Skills Required
- Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or Equivalent
- Broad project management experience underpinned by a thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering disciplines (design/test/manufacturing)
- Extensive experience of presentation design, development and delivery including customer facing
- Some experience of multi-faceted, externally facing negotiations
- Some experience in Risk Management techniques and their application
- Broad experience of managing customer interface
- Relationship building/interpersonal skills
- Thorough communication written, oral and presentation skills
- Thorough planning, organising and administration skill; proficient in MS Office (Excel and Project).
- Highly honed IT and data analysis skill (i.e. turning raw data into 'sound'/robust information)
