Business Development Manager - Secure Solutions
With over 45-years of privately owned history, our client is recognised for the design, specification and distribution of specialist electronic components and systems, including test and measurement solutions. To support this continued specialist focus, they are seeking a NEW Business Development Manager to further develop their market position with their range of secure shielded room solutions.
Working in support of defence, governmental, police and critical national infrastructure applications in the UK and Europe, the Business Development Manager will generate new opportunities from a hybrid/office position in England, 'going to market' by penetrating deeper into the customer base with existing and new clients along with responsibility for maintaining existing business.
The role requires identification and conversion of new sales leads, the professional presentation of the range of secure room solutions to new and existing clients, developing and maintaining solid relationships with prospective new contacts and existing clients. Success in the role will be dependent on a good understanding of the defence, governmental and security sector, with the ability to network and build relationships at a senior level. Application of commercial excellence and an ability to build a pipeline by hunting for new business is vital within both new and existing customers.

Sales
- Lead pro-active sales effort across UK and mainland Europe.
- Telephone, appointing and filling own diary with prospect and customer visits.
- Implement and execute sales campaigns and activity in target market areas / sectors.
- Increase customer engagement to explore for new opportunities in existing customer base.
- Develop and maintain key account plans for agreed strategic accounts within territory.
- Actively develop own online professional profile and regularly produce own content to build personal, technical brand.
Additional Deliverables
- Ability to develop and then manage to a sales plan including interaction with other group sales and business support functions.
- Experience of shaping and identifying new marketing collateral and support in order to drive in territory sales.
- All opportunities across the account base to be tracked and consistently updated within the company CRM and quote tracking systems.
Experience Required
- Experience of working in the defence and governmental sectors - candidates will need to British Nationals.
- Understanding of the market sectors in which the role will operate and ability to network successfully within the appropriate industry forums/organisations.
- Must have experience working in B2B sales role.
- Proven verbal and written presentation and commercial skills.
- Ideally degree educated (or with relevant commercial experience) and with a minimum of 5 years in a customer commercial role.
