Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to work in one of our partner Secondary schools on a full-time, long-term basis in September, with the view to becoming permanent.

You will be providing invaluable support to individual students who have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). Your support, along with that of the curriculum leads, Pastoral leads, and wider school community will help make a key difference in the lives of children at the school.

Based in Medway, the school is a vibrant and inclusive environment that focuses on the academic and personal growth of their pupils, delivering a pupil-focused approach to teaching and learning.

Salary will be between £83.33 and £90 per day and the role is full time.

To be considered for this role, applicants:

  • Ideally have at least a year’s experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant. For applicants without experience, we run a bespoke, in-person TA School to prepare you for the life of a TA
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrable patience and reasoning skills
  • Will have a positive, engaging, and proactive approach
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Tradewind can put a DBS in place for you, which we will refund in full following a period of 20 days worked in our placements
  • Valid Proof of Right to Work in the UK
