This role involves designing high-quality sheet metal components and assemblies for various applications.The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, particularly with sheet metal parts and assemblies
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including advanced modeling and drawing techniques
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as cutting, bending, and welding
  • A degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
  • Experience working collaboratively within a design and production environment
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and material properties
The Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings of sheet metal components using SolidWorks
  • Developing innovative design solutions that meet customer and project requirements
  • Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production
  • Reviewing and revising designs to meet cost, quality, and performance criteria
  • Producing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
  • Participating in design reviews and providing technical input to enhance product development
