MCR Property Group is a leading independent real estate investment and development company, operating nationally with offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow. Our primary focus lies in developing new build and conversion residential, industrial projects and managing a diverse portfolio covering every asset class, which includes around 7,500 residential plots and commercial/industrial assets exceeding £2 billion in value.

As an Intermediate or Project Quantity Surveyor you will fulfil the commercial function responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on selection of Sub-Contractors for package works.
  • Prepare ‘rolling' cost to complete throughout project.
  • Complete the final account administration and manage the retention release close out.
  • Internal reporting, cost to complete, cashflows, project reports, monthly project reviews.
  • Establish and develop productive and professional working relationships with all stakeholders with whom you are likely to engage externally such as the supply chain and design team, which may include members of the Employer’s team
  • monitoring of cost control and implement cost mitigation strategies, assessing risk, at all times acting fairly and reasonably.
  • Contribute data to assist with the production of a monthly commercial report, fully describing the position and plan for management of risk, opportunity, cost and value for those sub-contracts delegated to you to manage.
  • Agree settlement of final accounts with your supply chain packages

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and values
  • Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
  • Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems
  • Knowledge of Design Build contract desirable, knowledge of construction is essential
  • Understand the importance of mitigating risk (scope gap) between the SC trade interface during the procurement stage.
  • Be able to tender & procure, seeking value engineering opportunities and negotiate best value
  • Knowledge of JCT Contract and compile robust SC Trade Orders
  • Be able to value and commercially manage SC Trade applications.
  • Hold a full clean driving license
