SEN Teaching Assistants - Full-Time Role Starting ASAP

We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team. If you have experience supporting students with additional needs, whether in special needs settings or through personal experience, we want to hear from you. Key personal qualities such as compassion, empathy, and resilience are essential for this role.

Role Overview:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students on a 1:1 or small group basis under the guidance of the Class Teacher. You will work closely with other SEN Teaching Assistants, so strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. Classes will be small, with around 6-10 children, and the focus will be on life skills as well as targeted academic content. Additionally, you may be asked to assist with the delivery of therapies outlined in the children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and in some schools, personal care may be required.

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Autism
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
  • Specific Learning Difficulties
  • Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Physical Disabilities

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or adults with SEN
  • A team player with strong communication skills
  • Empathetic and patient approach
  • Clear communicator
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)

Role Details:

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
  • Term-Time Only
  • Location: Medway, Kent (ability to travel is an advantage)
  • Salary: £85-£95 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications
