Role: Client Accountant

Location: Glasgow - Office based

You will have responsibility for accounts preparation, preparation of the monthly management accounts, and reconciling the bank accounts

This opportunity requires a confident accountancy professional to work in cross-collaboration with different departments

Our client is ideally looking for someone with 3 years' experience in a similar role who is looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to thrive within a high-profile role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing and reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Invoicing and processing of invoices
  • Support with VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding for property-related expenses
  • Liaise with internal managers and other departments to ensure financial transactions are recorded correctly
  • Reconciling petty cash
  • Administration of payments to suppliers and staff
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts, including trial balance, profit & loss and balance sheet
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and asset registers
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the firm's portfolios
  • Handle tenant rent payments, reconciliations, and arrears management
  • Support in the preparation of service charge accounts
  • Ensuring clear audit trail and liaising with accountants where required
  • Processing of monthly payroll and associated PAYE

Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Full working knowledge of Sage 50 accounting and payroll software
  • Good Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Use own initiative to manage workload
