Description
The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data and reports, supporting decision-making at all levels.
- Maintain robust financial controls in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with departmental heads to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
- Monitor and analyse budget performance, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures.
- Support long-term financial planning to align resources with growth strategies.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee the company's treasury operations, including risk management, investments, and debt financing.
- Collaborate with banks and other financial institutions to manage relationships and optimize financing arrangements.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in legislation.
- Coordinate external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Lead internal audits and implement measures to mitigate risk and enhance financial integrity.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the small finance team of 2, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and team capabilities.
- Provide training and development opportunities to support team member's career progression.
Strategic Support
- Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and strategies that support business growth.
- Analyse potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions, preparing reports to aid in decision-making.
- Lead or contribute to key projects related to finance and business transformation.
Profile
The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:
- Chartered Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent.
- Exp in financial management or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing a finance team.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and hands-on approach.
Job Offer
This role offers a competitive salary between £55,000-£65,000 DOE plus benefits.
