Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our clients facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, a deep understanding of the food production and packaging industry, and the leadership qualities required to manage teams and drive business growth.
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of department heads and operational staff, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other financial metrics, making adjustments as necessary to achieve financial targets.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other third parties.
- Work with senior management to define the company's strategic goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the business vision.
Profile
A successful General Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Food Science, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a senior management role within the food production or packaging industry
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams across various departments.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, etc.), and quality control processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control.
