Client: A Chemistry Start Up CompanyTitle: Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Glasgow University G11 6EWLength: 3 months initially, possible extension to 6 months, but unlikely to go permanent.Hours: Mon - Fri either 10.a.m to 6.p.m OR 2.p.m to 10.p.m. 37.5 hours a weekPay: £11.44p/h rising to £12.21p/h in April.Role:The Laboratory Technicians role is to support the chemistry team as they execute critical laboratory research, development, and manufacturing tasks to ensure high-quality, reproducible, high-throughput, and safe chemical manufacturing and data acquisition.The Laboratory Technician’s main task is to maintain clean the glassware and other reaction-ware used by the chemistry team, to ensure the productivity of the chemistry team while they carry out development and manufacturing tasks.The ideal candidate will be a conscientious and responsible individual with flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns and able to work Key ResponsibilitiesMaintaining laboratory housekeeping (glassware, working areas)Return the dried glassware to the appropriate location(s) in the laboratoryComplying with laboratory safety and proceduresQualifications and ExperienceHigher (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics and a Science subject desirableHNC/HND (or equivalent) in a Science Subject a plusStrong work ethicGood time-keepingSafety-consciousWorks efficiently alone or as part of a team.
