Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Sales Manager to join one of our clients who are a leader in the retail manufacturing industry.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sales operations within the retail manufacturing sector. This role involves developing strategies to drive sales growth, manage key accounts, and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both retail and manufacturing environments, with a focus on achieving sales targets, expanding market share, and leading a dynamic sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve both short-term and long-term sales objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Forecast sales and set performance targets in alignment with company goals.
  • Implement promotional campaigns and pricing strategies to increase product sales in key retail markets.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to sales staff to improve their performance and product knowledge.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure team members’ professional growth and alignment with company goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and retail partners to ensure long-term business success.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for major accounts, managing the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to post-sale support.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Analyse sales data to identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Use CRM tools and other software to track customer interactions and sales progress.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective communication of product features and benefits.
  • Ensure all sales materials and product displays are aligned with the company’s brand and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on product performance and customer preferences to inform the development of new products or improvements.
  • Manage the sales budget to ensure efficient use of resources and maximise profitability.
  • Monitor and control sales expenses, ensuring cost-effective strategies are implemented.
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
  • Work with the finance department to ensure accurate invoicing and payments.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in sales management, preferably within a retail or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in managing retail accounts and B2B sales.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
