Position: Senior Bridge Engineer

Location: GlasgowWe are actively seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to deliver a wide range of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will bring a positive and practical approach to engineering while providing leadership to enhance the technical expertise of the team.The project portfolio includes diverse initiatives such as road and rail bridges, coastal defences, flood prevention schemes, marinas, and large-scale infrastructure projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying their existing skills in potentially new areas, overseeing projects throughout their entire lifecycle, and ensuring quality delivery at all stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review designs, documents, and drawings produced by the team to ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and other third parties to ensure alignment and smooth project progression.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the project design team, supporting less experienced colleagues.
  • Contribute to fee proposals and bidding processes to support project acquisition.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Chartered or nearly Chartered Engineer
  • Experience in investigating, assessing, and designing various civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on bridges and civil engineering structures.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail's design assurance process.
  • Endorsed as a CRE (Civils) for Network Rail projects.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
