We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering  Estimator to join our client, a civil engineering contractor specialising in civil engineering, geotechnics and piling who will be working mainly within the renewable energy space. They are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a skilled Estimator from a Civil Engineering bias for a permanent role based in Glasgow, with occasional travel to sites across Scotland as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a civil engineering contractor and have demonstrable experience within the renewables market ideally.  Pricing from first principles and working with a team of estimators throughout the business. 

Responsibilities:

Tender Identification & Management:

  • Identify suitable tenders for pricing.
  • Download and analyse tender documents.
  • Provide accurate, detailed quotations and prepare tender submissions.

Estimating & Documentation:

  • Gather necessary information and complete Bills of Quantities.
  • Log, track, and monitor tender submissions and successful bids.

Post-Award Handover:

  • Ensure a seamless transition of contracts to the delivery teams, ensuring all relevant details are communicated.
  • Assist with administrative and filing tasks for the Estimating Team.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years in the construction industry, ideally in Estimating, Procurement, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience working on civil and renewables projects would be advantageous.

Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

Other:

  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • A proactive and responsible approach, with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • A keen interest in professional growth and career development.
