Job Title: Cloud Architect (Azure / VMWare) - Hybrid role

Location: Glasgow city centre based with a company-wide remit. Hybrid working with 3 days per week at an office, data centre, or with clients. Occasional travel required.

About the Role:Lorien' client is seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to design and develop a cutting-edge Cloud Architecture that drives their innovative and market-leading Cloud products. Reporting to the Chief Technical Architect, you will develop a comprehensive Cloud Architecture Strategy that aligns with their goal of being the UK's leading Secure Cloud Service provider.

Your work will involve collaborating with senior stakeholders, designing scalable and secure solutions, and ensuring our Cloud architecture remains agile and cost-effective.

You will stay ahead of emerging technologies, evaluate their potential, and ensure their architecture evolves with industry trends. By identifying and mitigating risks, and providing technical leadership, you will play a key role in shaping their Cloud offerings. Your role will also involve guiding the Cloud engineering teams and driving the adoption of best practices in DevOps, infrastructure as code, and automated release management.About You:To thrive in this role, you'll bring proven experience as a Cloud Architect, ideally within a managed service provider, enterprise, or technology provider environment. Your deep knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and Cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and VMware, will be complemented by your strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are someone who can think strategically, yet has the hands-on technical expertise to propose and implement innovative solutions.

Your exceptional communication skills will allow you to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed. You have a natural ability to guide and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative culture that encourages high performance and resilience. In a fast-paced environment, you are adept at managing multiple priorities with a flexible and proactive approach. You bring with you a robust educational background, including a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with a proven background in Cloud architecture.Additionally, you'll hold certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert and VMware Cloud Management & Automation, among others, and be eligible for SC Clearance.
