Really successful and Scottish FinTech SaaS organisation, with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, are on the lookout for a Cloud Operations Engineer to join their hybrid squad to work on their market-leading product.

They are looking to bring in some new talent to the cloud operations team after internal promotions - something which they strive to achieve with all their staff.

They've been operating very successfully across the UK and have managed to increase their headcount by 50% over the last 5 years as they continue through a significant period of growth. We've worked with this organisation for several years now and have heard great things first-hand, they have a really good technical environment, strong employee culture and as a result great retention rates.

They're currently looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer to join one of their core squads. The Cloud Ops team work with both internal and external stakeholders and are responsible for the deployment and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports their SaaS product, so it would be beneficial if you had previous experience working in SaaS environments. The team is relatively small and consists of some more experienced engineers, where you will work to ensure that their platforms are performing well and are secure and stable for their users.

You'll ideally have experience with the following;

  • Technical ability in both Development and Operational pieces of work.
  • Commercial experience with Azure
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraforms, Kubernetes)
  • Good SQL skills (MsSQL, Azure SQL Database)
  • Working within a Linux environment

This is a hands-on role in a technical environment, so you will be utilising the tech and tools mentioned above to both deploy and maintain the infrastructure. This means that you will work both reactively and proactively to ensure that the platform runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

They are massive on career progression and personal development of their staff and have in-house examples of those that have climbed the ranks into more senior positions. One of their current Cloud Operations Engineers is making the step up to a Senior Platform Engineer, so there is definitely scope for progression for someone who impresses.

You will need to be a commutable distance from either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office as they require you to be in the office at least 2 days per week. However, they do have really inviting and modern offices which makes it all worthwhile! In return, they're able to offer a salary of between £35k-£50k and have some really strong benefits too which include:

  • Private medical insurance
  • 34 days of holiday, including 8 public holidays
  • Bonus scheme
  • Extensiveaccess to learningand development platforms
