An interesting opportunity for an experienced Applications Engineer with knowledge and application of Quantum, Cloud Computing, Linux and/or VDI.

Our client, an established and reputable IT Consultancy provider, seeks for an Application Engineer well versed in data source analysis, operating systems and a subject matter expert in Splunk.

Idea candidate will:

  • Have a background in Desktop Support or Desktop Engineering
  • Come from a technical background with Windows Operating Systems, MacOS/ iOS, Linux etc
  • Understand Pandas and SparkStrong written and verbal communication skills & relationship building skills
  • Extremely detail orientated and capable of working in a timely manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Expert in creating custom dashboards and alerts
  • SME in creating, developing, and running reports in Splunk
  • Analysis of data sources for efficacy and efficiency, provided insights to optimize ingestion and data parsing/normalization.
  • Analysis of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, macOS, etc.), Network Devices (firewall, routers, etc.), Applications and provide recommendations and/or implement solutions to optimize quality of service.
  • Design/implement monitoring solutions
  • Add customer context, analyze data to detect false positives, develop trends and data models
  • Produce customized alerts, dashboards, and reports to track performance metrics.
  • Develop and optimize search queries, alerts, reports and dashboards for performance and scalability.
  • Query Splunk and other data sources to surface trends indicative of issues with underlying infrastructure or application
  • Validate log sources and indexed data, search through data to optimize search criteria
  • Document all actions taken as a part of investigations and working closely with other teams support the problem management process

Position Requirements:

  • Relevant experience 2+ years with Splunk and familiar with uberAgent
  • Capabilities in Pandas and SparkStrong
  • Incident and problem management
  • Windows Operating Systems, MacOS/ iOS, Linux
  • Capabilities in identifying false positives, develop trends and data models
