Sales Role Ground Grass Care Equipment

Our client is a renowned distributor of sports ground maintenance machinery; they supply product, spares and maintenance contracts.  Our client provides Grass Care and Ground Care equipment to Golf Courses, Parks and Trusts, Private Estates, Schools and Sports Fields as well as Contract Sales to Councils and Contractors . Due to an expanding customer base, they now have the need for a Sales role for the Central Belt of Scotland.

The Role:

The role will involve developing both new and existing clients from Golf Courses, Parks, Outdoor Trusts, Private Estates, Schools, Councils and Groundwork Contractors and Sports Fields, dealing through a variety of decision makers you will provide the face and first point of contact for our clients customers.  This is a capital equipment sale as well as providing clients with an on-going service and maintenance capability. The product range will include a variety of machines (such as Turf Cutters, Seeders, Aerators, Tractors, Mowers and Golf Buggies). Our client has a massive product portfolio including some of the world’s best known brands. They have a total commitment to customer service and to the development of business relationships based upon trust and credibility.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have a sales background or from a Ground care, Grass care or Horticulture background or selling to Councils and Contractors and be adept at dealing with customers face to face or over the phone to arrange appointments. Applicants should have some knowledge of sales and be willing to sell capital equipment to a variety of different industries, in the past our client has been very successful with applicants who have had some experience in selling to similar customers, applicants selling equipment to the same customers or services to the same customers. Applicants from and automotive background who have sold agricultural or off-road equipment would also be of great interest. Applicants may have no present knowledge of our client’s range of products but must be willing to show a keen interest to learn and understand the product range and its advantages over competition. An ability to converse easily with colleagues and customers alike is essential. Applicants who have grounds keeping, green keeping, golf course or Garden experience who are looking for a career change.
