We are currently seeking a highly experienced Lead C&I Engineer with strong expertise in the nuclear industry. This pivotal role will involve leading and managing the design delivery of control and instrumentation systems across a range of multidisciplinary projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate design teams for instrumentation, control, and electrical systems across complex nuclear projects.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring effective integration and timely delivery of designs.
  • Design, develop, and specify ICA (Instrumentation, PLC, SCADA) systems, motor control systems, system architecture, fieldbus/communication networks, and P&ID's.
  • Ensure compliance with ATEX installation practices and functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508/61511).
  • Develop and review control specifications including URS (User Requirements Specification) and FDS (Functional Design Specification).
  • Lead the preparation of schedules and system requirements to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Perform technical reviews and ensure high-quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to control and instrumentation systems in the nuclear environment.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure all project requirements are met and maintained.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in leading design delivery in complex projects, particularly in the nuclear or process industries.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with ICA design (Instrumentation, PLC, and SCADA systems), motor control systems, and system architecture.
  • Strong familiarity with fieldbus/communication networks, P&ID's, and ATEX installation practices.
  • Extensive experience in functional safety and the development of control specifications (URS/FDS).
  • Strong understanding of project schedules and system requirements within a process/industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership capabilities in managing technical teams and driving project success.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with regulatory bodies within the nuclear sector.
  • Knowledge of the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with system integration and testing in the nuclear or process industries.
