We are seeking a dedicated EC&I Engineer to join the Engineering department with one of our key clients who operate in the industrial engineering sector. The role requires an experienced professional with exceptional skills to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement within the Glasgow location.

This is an established organisation in the industrial engineering sector with a workforce of over 5000 employees globally. The company focuses on developing and manufacturing compressor technology for their global customer base from their site in Glasgow.

Description

  • Undertake the design, specification and technical review of electrical, control and instrumentation equipment associated within their rotating equipment area.
  • Select, design and specify solutions for a wide range of electrical equipment including medium and low voltage motors and drives, equipment power distribution systems, PLC control systems and instrumentation for rotating machinery.
  • Update EC&I requirements of technical specifications
  • Attend customer design progress meetings for current contracts or proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage departmental budget and resource allocation.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality within the department.

Profile

A successful EC&I Engineer should have:

  • BEng in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a relevant engineering role - EC&I design and specification of large & small motors, drive packages, control systems, instrumentation.
  • Experience of High Voltage Motors specification and selection would be beneficial.
  • Computer literacy, competency in Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of programmable systems including ladder diagrams
