Specializing not only in Mechanical & ElectricalBuilding Design but also Energy & Sustainability. Employees are able towork on exciting projects to deliver low energy and high quality products.Theywork across a vast range of sectors, giving staff members exposure to a widerange of projects including: Education, Commercial, Residential, Industrial andmore. These projects range from new builds to refurbishments and can vary inscale from small works to £100m+.Repeatbusiness is a key objective and this is where the majority of work comesalongside referrals. This company always has a consistent pipeline ofinteresting work, recognize the importance of flexibility and operates in arelaxed office environment.Your new roleYou'll play a key part in the Electrical Design team and will have the opportunity tolead small projects and mentor junior team members. Your keyresponsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
  • Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems
  • Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Relux, Amtech/Trimble, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
  • Preparing technical specifications
  • Collaborate with our BIM team to prepare models and drawings
  • Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
  • Report and technical note writing.
  • Managing own workload and working to time allocations.
  • Reviewing progress, including reporting any anomalies and changes of scope to the project lead.
  • Assist with technical development of junior staff.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET.
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of industry standard digital tools
  • Competent in designing for measurement and verification, including experience of commissioning and post installation evaluation of performance.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
  • Able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
  • Good report writing skills
