A market-leading chemical manufacturing organisation are currently looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
Working as part of a Central Engineering function this is a 100% home based position with regular UK/European travel to 11 manufacturing sites.
The opportunity involves generating complex electrical designs and calculations using Aveva Design and following up on site supporting commissioning activities.
Key tasks include:
- Designing and commissioning both LV and HV electrical systems:
- Earthing and Lightning Protection designs, Fault Studies & Protection Co-ordination,Design of systems, control circuits & relay control panels, and Cable Schedules,
- Producing design packages, maintaining existing processes and procedures, as well as scoping maintenance plans.
- Proactively planning and engaging with internal departments and external contractors and suppliers.
- Developing and managing an electrical integrity program across UK and EU sites.
- Aiding in ensuring that project delivery and both fault-finding and subsequent remedial actions are to required standards.
To be considered candidates will need to have previous electrical design experience within a relatable industry sector (e.g. nuclear, oil and gas, construction, heavy manufacturing) and in working on designing LV & HV systems. A formal technical qualification in electrical engineering is also required (ideally Degree level).
The position is based primarily from home (80%) with an element of travel (20%) Monday to Friday with a 37.5-hour week.
