Base Location: Hybrid working pattern: 50% of office attendance in either Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness
Salary: 拢650.00 per day Umbrella

This role involves being part of the full project life cycle, from project definition to completion. You will be responsible for preparing and evaluating tenders, developing conceptual and front-end designs, and supporting construction, installation, and commissioning activities. Additionally, you will provide cable engineering support across multiple projects, develop technical scopes and specifications, and review detailed underground cable system designs. This position offers the chance to work closely with Transmission Engineering Managers and Project Managers, ensuring quality and safety standards are met while contributing to high-profile projects and technically complex issues.
Key duties & responsibilities:
路 Involved in the full project life cycle, from project definition, preparing and evaluating tenders, conceptual and front-end design development, detail design reviews, HAZID/HAZCON/HAZOP sessions into supporting construction, installation, commissioning and project completion.
路 providing cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, including: review and assessment of technology options, underground cable routing selection, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment of interface requirements.
路 Developing technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets.
路 Reviewing cable system prequalification and type testing reports in preparation for SSEN approval, reviewing and verifying contractor/consultant detailed underground cable system designs, witnessing factory and relevant discipline site acceptance testing.
路 Providing technical support to site teams to ensure quality of installations and cable commissioning activities.
路 Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants.
路 Promoting and managing safety within your assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations.
路 Working closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Quality risks are identified and mitigated.
路 Providing technical support on high profile projects or technically complex issues.
Essential Qualifications:
路Candidates must be degree qualified electrical engineers to be considered for this role.
路Previous Transmission experience required.
路A minimum of 3+ Years cable project experience
