Accounts Receivable Deputy Supervisor

I am seeking an Accounts Receivable Deputy Supervisor responsible for key elements of the Receivables function. This role involves supporting the day-to-day performance of the team to ensure timely delivery of income and refunds processing across all income streams. The successful candidate will also deputise for the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, maintaining a strong financial control environment and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. As this is a Deputy Supervisor role, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right personality traits and leadership skills to take their first step into management, so if you have strong AR experience but not currently supervising, please do apply.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Ensure high-quality output with a strong focus on controls, assurance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage daily receivables processing including cash allocation, unallocated cash management, Direct Debit collection, and daily billing processes.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable inboxes to ensure delivery of service level agreements (SLAs), including reporting and escalating any non-deliverables to support effective metrics reporting.
  • Conduct month-end processes including preparation of monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Challenge current processes to identify risks and opportunities for process improvement to deliver business efficiencies.
  • Support the Supervisor in project work, providing training and guidance to staff as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, particularly Accounts Receivable/Cash Control.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work unsupervised and within deadlines.
  • Proven understanding of control, governance, and risk awareness.
  • Extensive experience in using MS Office, with a minimum of intermediate level in Excel.
  • Recent relevant experience in an Accounts environment of a high-volume processing large organisation.
