Our client, a leading SME in the Engineering sector, is recruiting a newly created Finance Manager role in Glasgow as a result of sustained growth. The role will offer responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department and will have a heavy operational focus.

Description

* Prepare, review and provide commentary for management accounts

* Develop and maintain good working relationship with company's operational and senior management

* Prepare WIP accruals & project costs accruals and prepayments

* Interrogation of contract margin variances

* Quarterly forecast: preparation and commentary

* Annual budget: preparation and commentary

* Cash forecasts

* Project / contract budgets / proposals

* Year end audit planning / file preparation

* Year end statutory accounts preparation

* Year end tax computations

* Coordination of information for insurance renewal

* Oversight of Credit Control

Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA). They will either have trained and qualified in Industry (preferably Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction sectors) or will have gained post-qualified experience in Industry after completing their training in practice. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work autonomously are essential.
